How To Get In Shape Quickly

What is the one thing that millions of people want – besides money? If you said the common thread linking everyone together is the desire to get in shape, you would be correct.

Since the dawn of time humans all over the world have strived to achieve optimal beauty standards. What this means exactly has changed a lot over the millennia. In general it speaks to being physically fit.

However, achieving this standard is not easy. The one question almost everyone asks is how to get in shape quickly.

Here are two fitness tips to get in shape

1. Combine Cardio And Weightlifting

One of the many mistakes people make is assuming that exercising is all about the cardio burn. Quite the contrary, focusing only on aerobic exercise will not help you see the results you want in a timely manner. Yes, it is good to do a lot of aerobic exercising, and it will definitely be good for your heart, but at the end of the day it will only help you lose some inches, not tone up and look fit.

Weightlifting to get in shape

Weightlifting is important to add to your exercise routine. This way you can get the burn and also build up muscle and tone most of your body. Lifting weights also has the added benefit of helping you burn more fat. Maintaining muscle mass requires a lot of energy. The body will take that energy in the form of burning off fat. You can’t have one without the other.

2. Avoid Fatty Foods

It’s a good rule of thumb to avoid foods that make you retain water. Foods that are filled with sodium are one of the biggest perpetrators. Eating too much sodium in your diet will raise your blood pressure and cause heart problems later on.

Also be careful of what kinds of fat you put into your body. Saturated and trans fats should be minimized. However, there are good fats that you should be eating. Nuts are rich in both protein to keep you full and the good fats, thus making them a perfect snack. (Just avoid the salted ones – remember, you want to cut down on the sodium!)

These two tips are not revolutionary, but you hear about them a lot because they really do work. Focus on adding more weightlifting to your aerobics routine. Then go through your food to make sure you’re eating only good fats and cutting back on the sodium. Remember, before starting any new regimen to get in shape, consult your doctor.
